Rurii stuck out her tongue as dirt clung to her underbelly. She scooted out from under the tree stump and shook her short auburn fur. Stray scraps or leaves and other debris flew off. But her fur remained with a thin layer of dust. Rurii sighed. She had wandered away from her trainer to play but didn't mean to wander into the land of dirt. The forest was pretty, with interesting smells, but it was filthy and no place for a pampered pokemon like herself. She licked a front paw then trotted on. She held her tails up high and glanced up at the sun. It was so pretty. With the sunlight streaming through the trees like that. She wasn't watching where she was going and was bound to run into something sooner or later, or someone.

The water was cool upon her dainty head, as Raftina happily swam in the new lake she had come across when roaming through rivers and underground water ways, until she had come to a lovely pond in the middle of a forest, glimmering from the sunlight and giving her a beautiful view. At once, the Milotic was in love, but she wouldn't let it get to her either, what if there were dangerous pokemon in these parts? Yes, she was 20 feet and over 300 pounds, but that didn't mean an annoyed Arcainine or mistrusting Houndoom decided to waltz in and attack her on the spot. So, she decided to dive down into the lake, even though is was extremely shallow, only about twenty-five feet. She couldn't really move far, but she was content with the cool temperature. Her eyes closed for a moment, before she swam back up to look around. She wanted to meet someone now, enjoying the company from her last encounter, with a lovely Shuckle. She had enjoyed talking to them, well, he did most of the talking, being that she was mute. She had been mute her entire life, and she was okay with it. As soon as her head broke the water, her sapphire eyes scanned the perimeter for any visitors, only to find nothing but brush, and trees. It's not like she didn't like trees, they were very welcoming, but she still longed to see at least one other creature. Her creamy body remained afloat, but was about to go back down until she heard the slight rustling of someone. Instantly her senses were pinpointed on the spot the noise was coming from, and waited for something to appear.

Rurii sniffed and smelled the scent of water. It was a murky, but clean scent and she followed it. She had heard that a big pool of water was located int he center of the forest and she guessed that's where she was. In her haste to drink her paw snapped a twig. She froze. She knew she was powerful but that didn't mean there weren't stronger ones out there. When nothing came she continued, tail held high. She pushed her small body through a bush and expected to see a pool of water. Not quite.
The fire fox pokemon leaped back and screeched at the surprise of seeing a pokemon. She barked at it though to cover her surprise, then stopped. As conceited as she was she had never seen something so beautiful. It almost looked ethereal. So graceful and beautiful. Rurii quickly stepped forward, but kept her ears open to any outer sounds. She was in surprise sure but more she was amazed. Such a beautiful creature. She didn't think it was dangerous and slowly tilted her head down to lap up some water. When she finished she sat, puffed out her chest, and fanned out her tails.
"Vuuuul, vulpix." She barked excitedly. "Wow, i'm Rurii. What's your name?" Normal pokemon would of been amazed that the conceited and rude vulpix was being so nice, but the truth was she had no reason to be mean to this beautiful pokemon. She was only rude to others because she thought she was superior in either strength or beauty. But obviously that wasn't the case here.

What appeared from the bushes was a Vulpix, a simple little fire creature that had come in search of water. Raftina smiled softly, she liked company, even if fire pokemon could possibly do serious damage. She tilted her dainty, head, watching as the female took a few laps of water, before looking up and smiling happily. She of course, had asked for her name, and of course, she couldn't tell her. Being mute was always a challenge, and this made it harder for the Milotic to figure out how to communicate to Rurii. So, she did what she could, and when opening her mouth, she tried to speak, but all that came out was nothing. She moved her lips, trying to say 'Raftina', but of course, there was still no sound. So, she finally shut her mouth, her eyes filled with apologies, her head tilted in hopes that Rurii would understand her situation, some pokemon had before, but others had thought of her as stuck up, and of course would leave her be. She just hoped Rurii wasn't the same way, she was a little happy to finally find a female pokemon that would be pleased to speak with her.

Rurii tilted her head to the side. The beautiful pokemon opened it's large jaws and Rurii expected to hear the most graceful voice she had ever heard. But instead there was nothing. No sound, not a squeal. Nothing. Rurii was at first confused but then understood that the water pokemon was mute. She nodded.
"Vuuuuul. Vulpix, Vul." She barked. "It's okay. Words aren't that important. You must be wild. Look how beautiful you are." She cooed and dipped a single paw into the water. She snapped her head up and her amber eyes brightened. "Vuuuuuuuuuul! Vulpix, vul!" She barked again, this time more excited. "Let's race! You in the water and me on the ground. We can have fun playing if you can't talk."

Relief ran through the beauty, she was glad she understood and listened as she alright with it, before saying she was beautiful. She bashfully dipped her head, it was true this was said often, but it still always made her blush. A little paw had been dipped into the water, before Rurii wanted to race, to play a game since they couldn't talk. Raftina liked the sound of that, she didn't mind stretching her muscles and taking a nice swim, but the only problem was, was that she could only go around in a circle. To voice this to Rurii, she quickly began to race herself around in a circle, her full size being shown as she remained at the surface, before effortlessly coming to a halt and looking at Rurii once more with her sapphire orbs.

Rurii tilted her head to the side and became dizzy as the water Pokemon swam in a circle. She understood, sort of. With caution she dipped her paw in again only deeper.
"Vul? Vulpix?" She asked. "There isn't an underground tunnel?" She thought that was how the milotic got into that lake in the first place. The fox pokemon wondered how fast the fish pokemon was? Water pokemon were supposedly fast, but Rurii herself had been trained to be perfect from her previous owner. She shooka way the memory of him and sighed. She fanned out her tail and waited.

She blinked, well, there was a tunnel, but would the Vulpix really want to go that far? Well, if she wanted to she was alright with that, Raftina was extremely fast, and could get to the next lake in about ten minutes, even though it was about twenty miles. Half the time she calculated, maybe she should go slower, she didn't want to think Rurii abandoned her, so she simply nodded and danced around a little, before preparing to get going. Her eyes looked into Rurii's, and she patiently awaited for the signal to go.

Rurii barked in excitement and jumed to her paws.
"Vulpix! Vuuuul, vul, vupix!" She bunched up her muscles. "Okay so you go through the tunnel and i'll be on land. We'll race that way. Ready, get set, go!" She pushed off with her back legs and ran. Her paws drummed against the forest floor and sunlight streaked against her from the canopy. She felt the wind flowing against her but she kept her head down to increase her speed and so her eyes wouldn't be damaged. She wondered where the milotic was? Maybe she was farther ahead? In fear of loosing she raced faster and her tail fanned out behind her small body. She couldn't loose, though against a creature such as this she knew she wouldn't feel to bad.

Raftina watched her go, letting her get a little bit of a head start. They had a long ways to go, and a few minutes of a head start wouldn't hurt. It quickly passed, and without another thought, she gracefully dove into the water, swimming at a miraculous speed, her eyes seeing clearly as she went under the dark tunnel, before appearing shortly later in a river, where she soon began to slow down, swimming swiftly but not as amazingly fast as before. She was fluid in her movement, and kept her senses sharp for any signs that the Vulpix was around.
