Welcome to Staffhaven! This is a quaint little town in the mountains of New Jersey. It's located at the base of the mountains, where a forest starts behind it and reaches up to the top of the peaks. A few miles away is a beach. There is a variety of people living in the town, from the upper class all the way down to the ghetto. It's a peaceful little town. People are happy and care-free, and they love to chat with each other. Most can't afford to live better than they do, and they choose not to live worse. They can go to the different parts of town, though depending on what class they are in, they may not be able to afford everything.

Upon entering the town, people think it's a peaceful town, and it is. At first glance, at least. The citizens will welcome you in and treat you as one of their own. Don't be fooled. Underneath the happy facade, there are dark secrets. Long ago, Staffhaven was a fishing village. They made their money by catching fish and selling it to other towns. It was their main product. Then, since they lived by the sea, they were raided by pirates. Their shipping dock, where the fish was stored and was shipped, was destroyed and unusable. Staffhaven was in a slump after that, until they took up mining. Now another force is seeking to destroy this way of life. Small explosions, not big enough to hurt anybody, are happening all over the mine circuit. People report sightings of something following them or hearing noises. It's different for each person, though not many sightings have been reported. Are the two incidents connected? Who is out to make sure Staffhaven falls? What is this new threat they sent? Will Staffhaven be destroyed before anyone can find out?

While the town tries answering these questions, the mayor has passed a law banning people from trading with ships that stop at the dock. He fears that the explosions might be an inside job and hopes that by banning the trade, people would not be able to obtain materials to cause the explosions. However, they are still happening. For fear of injury and annoyance at the mayor, citizens leave on the ships, depleting the population. A few people from the ships stay in Staffhaven, and they are looking suspicious. Are they the ones causing the explosions? The remaining citizens of the town keep an eye on these, and any other, newcomers.
