The Pokemon Guidebook
Birth//
Pokemon are born from eggs, doesn't matter the species. Usually they are born along with 3-8 other eggs. The average is five. The eggs hatch after a three weeks (10 real days). They are born, unlike real animals, not helpless. They can already move around and eat solids. But since they are so inexperienced their moves are weak, so weak it wouldn't affect anything. They depend on their parents for food, but if they don't have any they will survive.
Growth//
Pokemon grow relatively fast. After only three more weeks (10 days) they can hunt for themselves, run, jump, and their moves are stronger, so they can easily defend themselves from weak opponents. They learn from experience and watch others (usually their fellow hatchlings) to see what to do. Just like if you touch your hand to a stove thinking its cold, and its hot your more careful next time. Same with pokemon.
Companionship//
Pokemon form bonds with lots of pokemon, as long as they agree (such as territory-wise and don't instinctively attack each other). They often depend on these bonds when in need. For example if a glameow is stuck in a tree a friendly aimpom can help her out of a mess of a situation. They will sometimes fight together, but more than that they fight alone. This is because pokemon, if not pack species, like to travel alone. This include but is not limited to Pikachu, Teddiursa, and Jigglypuff.
Usually pokemon do not seek out companionship with humans, yet this excludes naturally friendly pokemon, such as vileplume, bellossom, togepi, or jigglypuff. Pokemon, most, are naturally scared of humans. That is why they defend themselves when battled and are stubborn with being caught.
Food//
Pokemon eat whatever is in their food chain. Felines (meowth, skitty, etc) hunt rodents and birds if in the wild. Canines hunt meat, usually in horse or other herding animals. Birds hunt insects or eat plants (not plant pokemon). Just think of a common animal and you'll get your answer as to what they eat. If you have any questions post in the questions board.
Sleeping//
This ranges. Some have noctornal activities and some are total slackers.
Power//
Again, this ranges. It depends on the stamina and strength, as well as defense.
