A gentle breeze filtered across the field, sending the flowers into a light dance, swaying to and fro in a graceful ballet. The sight went unnoticed by a certain figure, dark eyes scanning the perimeter for anything suspicious. Of course, nothing was in this land, and so it wasn't necessary to really worry, but the male knew better. Creamy receptors flickered, and a flamboyant mane and tail flickered in the breeze, continuously moving with or without the wind. An ebon hoof pawed into the earth, before breaking into a graceful trot in search of a resting spot. He had been running for quite a few miles, and now he was growing tired of running, it had been too long without food, or rest. A snort left his lips, and he moved himself closer to a tree he had finally come across. It had just the right amount of shade, making it a welcoming sight to the stud who loved a nice, shady tree for a napping spot. His legs were a little more heavy, since he knew he was coming closer to the tree, and he lowered his head into the grass, lipping up a few shreds before continuing on his way. Before he knew it, he reached his destination, and pressed his coat against the stiff bark, rubbing slightly to relieve an itch, before shaking his graceful skull, and slowly closed his eyes. Ah, this was the perfect spot for him to relax, no one to bother him, or to wake him from his restful slumber. It wasn't long before he went into a peaceful slumber, dreaming sweet dreams that gave him good rest. He was there for about an hour or two, before he slowly woke up once more, feeling a little more rested. He glanced around the area to see if the coast was clear, before returning to his slumber. Even so, his ears flickered left and right, tuning in on any small sounds that could possibly prove to be dangerous. But it didn't matter, he had hooves ten times harder than diamond, that could kill a pokemon with one stomp. It wasn't like he wanted to kill a pokemon, but he definitely would if it meant keeping himself alive.

OoC: Just saying that this takes place after Kage visited the lab to get the lab. Just wanted that to be clear for now, because it can get confusing with the same character in two different threads.
BiC: Unknown to the little Ponyta, just behind the tree was a complete stranger. The stranger was a tall young man, dressed in dark clothing, already taking a nap. He had been there for maybe fifteen minutes, and already he was having vivid dreams. These dreams usually consisted of past pains and agony that he still kept to this day.
In front of Kage lay a dead pokemon. There was blood around it, as the poor creature lay motionless. Slowly, Kage neared the pokemon. He soon recognized it to be a Sparrow. It's eyes were closed, and it's body was stiff.
Kage knelt down beside it, falling hard on his knees. It was a terrible sight to behold. A sadness filled his heart. The young man wanted to cry from seeing the dead Sparrow. Ever so gently, Kage placed his hand on one side of the pokemon, and stroked it's wing lovingly.
There was a sudden laughter from behind. It was a terrible sound, which made Kage stop petting his former friend. The laughter brought on an anger from within. It was a consuming rage, one that would not simply go away. Such a feeling took over his body, and struck out at the laughter.
Suddenly, the young man struck out. He stood up, looking frantically all around him. It seemed like the evil laughter left for a time, but he would find it. Kage, still groggy from his sleep, thought he heard something behind the tree. Without any warning, the darkly dressed trainer swung out a fist, only feeling rage coarse through his veins.

Sleep was a wonderful occurrence, until he heard someone wake up on the other side. He was instantly alert, jumping a little with a start, before listening in closely. It was a human male, who looked a little groggy, and before he knew it he was being swung out at, getting hit in the shoulder. A sudden adrenaline burst through the stallion, and with one movement, he had sent his flames upon the hand, giving it a quick burn to give the male a warning. He didn't like being touched, and being assaulted by a human, sent him into anger. He pawed the earth and nickered in distaste, before shoving the adult out of his way, and grape-vined to the left to make sure he wouldn't be hit once more. Dark eyes looked uncertainly towards the human, he didn't understand why he was suddenly attacking him. Maybe he had a bad dream and was still slightly dreaming. He wasn't sure, and kept himself light on his hooves while his flamed mane and tail flickered in the gentle breeze.
OOC: I know that's fine lol.

There was a sudden flash of fire where his hand was. The fire was painful, and it made Kage bring his hand back from the threat. Was this the source of the laughter? It must have, being that it was behind him.
Rage flared inside the young man. He looked down at the firey pokemon, and did not see a pokemon. Kage saw an enemy, and would bring it down no matter what it took. The anger was clouding his judgement greatly. It had taken over so greatly, Kage did not even consider using his starter pokemon to fight.
Suddenly, Kage roared out loud, and began his assault on the pokemon he falsly assumed as his enemy. He sent out a strong kick, aiming right for the side. It would be difficult for the Ponyta to evade his attack, but not entirely impossible.

A squeal sounded from the stud as a sharp kick was aimed at his flank. His ears flattened, and with a snort of flames, he shot his head forward, nipping towards the male's chest before rearing and letting his filaments flare with rage. It was obvious this was a fight, and with a snort he charged forward, eyes narrowed as he whinnied, aiming a hoof at the human's leg. This certainly gave him a large impression on humans, he didn't like them, and he probably wasn't going to ever like them again.

Kage, in his rage, saw the fire build up from the pokemon. It was obvious that his actions angered the pokemon, but he did not care. To him, the Ponyta was the reason he was in pain. If he could take down this Ponyta, then maybe the agony would leave. Just maybe...
In his rage, the young man took the kick from the Ponyta. The pain went through his leg, and he shouted from the pain. "Oh, now you're asking for it," Kage said to the Ponyta in a dark and evil growl. He was trying to ignore the pain, but it was difficult. That pokemon had some hard hooves.
Kage then bellowed up to the skies, and brought his fists crashing down upon the smaller creature. His hands were clasped together tightly as they slammed down on the pokemon's back, much like a hammer. Kage was filled with the fury, he did not even consider the flames that came from the pokemon. All he knew was that he had to take down the Ponyta.

A sharp pain hit his back, making him squeal and buck in fury. What did he ever do to this guy? He was just taking a nap and soon he was being ambushed. He was about to retaliate, when he caught a glimpse of the human's gaze. Even though there was fury, there was a certain sadness within those depths, that seemed to be there for a long time, and wouldn't go away for a long while. This made him stop in thought, thinking for a long moment, before tossing his head and slamming it against the man's, intending on knocking him down. He no longer wanted to hurt this human, only keep him down to make his escape, to show he didn't meant to start such a war. His gaze remained calm, stern, and somewhat determined to make this man understand that there was nothing to make him so upset.

"Oof!"
The head slamming from the Ponyta sent Kage sprawling to the ground. He landed with a slight thud as the young man hit the ground. For a few seconds, Kage tried to regain the breath he just got knocked out of him. When he did, he was back up on his feet. His fists remained white, shaky, and clenched tightly. Kage's entire body was tensed, and his breathing was ragged.
For a moment, the enraged man simply stood there, examining the enemy. The Ponyta did not seem to be filled with the anger it once had. It seemed to be calm, and rather understanding. Even though it did not seem like the threat it once was, Kage was still filled with anger. He just wanted the pain to stop, and the Ponyta was just... there. It was so aggravating for him.
Suddenly, the young man began to yell at the pokemon. "Why don't you just attack?! Just charge me, ram me, stomp me to the ground! Do something, ANYTHING!" His body was shaking from the strain he was putting on himself. The rage within would not leave, but it seemed to be letting go of it's fiery grasp on Kage's soul. At least, for now it was.

Of course, the male went down, but to Flare's surprise he was up once again, shaking his pale fists and staring angrily at him, ready to attack once more. But he was still examining, thinking, and before he knew it the male was screaming at him in English. Even though he didn't really understand the human language yet, he seemed to be wanting him to attack, to continue to show these aggressive feelings towards him. What was it that gave him this odd rage, this feeling that would make him want a pokemon to attack him. Flare didn't understand completely, but he wasn't going to fight this man anymore, no, he was going to keep it simple, to show this man even though he wasn't being the best human, he wasn't going to hurt him for it. Effortlessly, the stud brought himself forward, dark eyes looking into the man's soul, before stopping inches away from his body, and pressing his soft muzzle to his fist, blowing air onto it, taking in his scent. This was common for Ponytas and Rapidash's to do, to meet their muzzles and blow air into them to show peace and friendship, but since this man had no muzzle, Flare decided to just blow air on his fist. His ears flickered, and with a subtle whicker, he removed his muzzle from the hand and lifted it up confidently, staring down this human once more.

Kage stood his ground, somewhat hunched over, staring at the nearing Ponyta. The pokemon seemed calm, even with the enraged man before. Had the fire pokemon simply forgiven the man for hitting him? For attacking him on his own accord, not even considering what his actions may have done to the Ponyta? In a slight confusion, Kage kept his feet planted, breathing in a ragged fashion.
The Ponyta then stopped in front of Kage. He stared down at the littler creature that stood before him. In a hoarse voice, Kage spoke down upon the pokemon. "Just... Attack... Me..." The rage was really subsiding now, as he could finally feel the aches and pains from his skimish with the Ponyta.
What... are you... doing?
Kage was surprised when the Ponyta blew air at his clenched fists. They were white, and they did hurt. It seemed that the slight breathe of air reliquished all the power from his hands, as his arms fell to his sides limply. The young trainer then looked from his hands to the Ponyta's eyes. They were dark, and almost comforting. Perhaps those dark eyes were what drew Kage to the darkness. Seeing those eyes calmed him down even more, and he was able to let out a tired sigh.

It seemed to be working, because of his attitude changing, the human's went to, and keeping that in mind, he remained relaxed, quiet, and watched as the slightly pained adult finally relaxed and let his limbs go limp. His eyes remained looking into his, and with a tired sigh, he seemed to show his pain. Flare was feeling some aches too, this man had a powerful punch. His shoulder ached, his back hurt, and his head throbbed from butting heads with the male. Maybe that wasn't the greatest thing to do. Without another thought, Flare happily plopped to the ground, letting his head droop and eyes close, letting his body take a rest. His sides lifted and sunk, and his almond-shaped orbs shut, letting himself take his guard down, even with this human here. He had a feeling that nothing would exactly happen, and if it did he would be angry, especially since he had shown little trust towards a human who had first attacked him. Even so, he was going to sleep now, because he was definitely not ready to keep travelling. So, without another thought, he kept his eyes shut, and slowly drifted into slumber.

Kage watched as the Ponyta relaxed in front of him. The fire pokemon simply plopped down on the ground, and began to sleep. For a moment, the young man stared at the serene creature. This pokemon had both beauty and brutality, and he admired the Ponyta for that. It almost made him feel... relaxed.
Suddenly, the new trainer's legs gave way. Kage fell to his knees. The exhaustion was taking over his body. He required sleep to help the healing of his wounds, both interior and exterior of himself. That inner rage had settled back down deep inside him, but would not simply leave his being like so. Kage knew that, and he knew that very well.
Without any warning, Kage fell from his position of being on his knees, to having his body completely flat on the ground. He landed with a slight 'Oof', but he did not care. Sleep was taking over. His vision fluttered for a few seconds, and then he was in a deep sleep. There would be no bad dreams from his rest.

It wasn't long before nighttime came around, and Flare awoke to figure out his surroundings once more, before flicking his ears and slowly rising to find himself a pond to drink out of. His gaze soon drifted down to Kage, who still seemed to be out cold, before shaking his coat and letting his mane and tail light the way for him to find water. It wasn't long before he came across said pond he was searching for, which he happily dipped his muzzle in to take a icy drink. His eyes shut, and he enjoyed the coolness against his throat, before flicking his ears and raising his head once more. He felt oddly more calm than normal, not used to being so calm, so...mature.
Flare mature? That was ridiculous! He was the manly stud that loved to have fun and flirt, but now...he was acting like a therapist for a temperamental human, and then watching over him like he cared. It was true he didn't really mind the company of the male, he felt they had something in common, but it was something he truly wasn't used to. Would he remained with this human until he was on his merry way? Or would he abandon him now and let him wake up in the morning to find no Ponyta.
His eyes soon met the glitter of the moon, before taking in a breath and studying the ivory orb. Silence was among him, not even the night creatures were about, and before Flare knew it, he had made his decision. His dark eyes continued to gaze into the sky, studying each and every speck, before taking in a slow breath, and turning away to return to his resting spot, grabbing a few pieces of grass on the way.

Kage opened his eyes to compete darkness. At first, he believed that he had lost his vision entirely. However, this terrifying thought left him, when he turned over and saw the area around him lit by moonlight. The young man sighed in relief. Kage did not want to go blind any day soon.
Also, the troubled man viewed the magnificent image before him. The trees were casting dark shadows that had their own beauty to them. All these shadows would usually be scary to most other people, but Kage found comfort in the darkness. The darkness gave him a sense of safety.
Soon, the trainer looked towards an approaching light. At first, Kage's gut told him to run behind the tree, and stay away. But it soon came to his mind that it may have just been the Ponyta. The trainer was somewhat torn between these two thoughts. Should he hide, or should he stay? Perhaps he had some other company, he would be ready if it was not the Ponyta.
With a swift motion, Kage grabbed for the lone pokeball on his belt, and pressed the button. The device was facing outward, as could be seen by a red light. Only one second later, a Cyndaquil appeared. Kage smiled at his new, small friend, whom he had named Julius. The new trainer felt better, and was now prepared for whatever was coming.

It seemed like hours for Flare who was staring at the moon, before he suddenly heard noises coming from the bushes. His ears pricked at attention, his neck swiveling so his head could see, senses alert as he was dead still, waiting for whatever it was to approach. His nostrils flared, taking in the scent of whatever was approaching. Assuming it was just the human, he brought himself forward, suppressing a nicker in greeting, before attempting to break through the bushes. What Flare didn't expect, was a Meganium charging forward, attacking him with Tackle.
He quickly took the hit, making him a little dizzy because of the grass-type, before shaking himself out of it and flattening his ears, attacking quickly with Flame Wheel. The large amounts of flame hit the Meganium, knocking it back and of course, making it a little weaker, before attempting to attack with Razor Leaf. At first, Flare tried to dodge, but tripping over a rock, he tipped over and was sliced by the harsh leaves attempting to send him to unconsciousness.
