Amora walked quickly, her paws hating the dry ground she stood on. It was so hot and sunny here, she wasn't liking it at all. Her fur was making it even hotter and now she was beginning to pant. She just wanted some water and something to munch on. Her eyes grew dim as she continued on her way. It was then she saw the well up ahead. She stopped to shake her head and then began a full out sprint.
She got to the well and her eyes lit up as she drank some. She shook her tail happily and continued to drink the water until she felt cold inside. She walked away from the well and lie down on the sand. She lie there and wondered where all the food was. She really wanted to find someone to bring her home and take care of her but there was no one in sight.

Beatrix pouted to herself, mumbling and throwing out random cuss words every now and again. She wasn't familiar with the landscape, and when her friend Roger told her there was to be a hip pokemon fashion show here, she hopped on the next bus. Unfortunately, the population of Arch Town seemed to be as dry as her career.
She stumbled a bit in her sandals, grateful she'd at least worn a chic romper rather than her usual sundresses-Much better to navigate ghost-towns in. Beatrix felt along her braided belt, making sure her pokeballs were still there. A great fear of hers was losing her pokemon on accident-Imagine what normal people would do to them! A shudder rippled through her, and she licked her dry lips. Beatrix wished she'd brought a bottle of mineral water...Roger would pay!
Suddenly, a small well appeared in her line of view. She blinked a few times, dislodging any sand that happened to be stuck; No, it was not a mirage. She skipped cheerily over to it, and leaned over to get some hydration. She brought her cupped hands up to her lips, drinking deeply. It was fresh and almost sweet, tasting like only nature's water could. Much better.
Turning away, a flash of russet caught her eye. Freezing, she spotted a seemingly drowsing vulpix on the sand. Beatrix's heard accelerated, and a silly grin lit her face-She just adored vulpixs' cute curls. She carefully, slowly approached the female, trying not to spook her away.
"Hello," She cooed softly, crouching down to the pokemon's level. They responded better when you weren't tall and intimidating.

Amora lifted her head as the trainer began to speak to her. The girl seemed nice but also upset by something, yet she had a smile on her face. Amora stood up and shook her fur clear of the sand. She licked her fur and preened herself before looking at the female. She sniffed the air carefully and walked around the trainer in a quick, neat circle. She stopped before the trainer, mere inches from her and sat down.
Her curly tail sat up straight and her ears sat erect as well. This trainer seems ok. You should trust her. Maybe she has food and a place to stay. Her thoughts scattered for a few minutes and then she thought of what to do. She cocked her head to the left. "Vul?" She looked at the trainer and then outstretched her nose so she could touch the trainer's hand. She liked her and wanted to be taken in with her.

Beatrix smiled at the small vulpix, relief washing over her. At least it wasn't running. Once she'd let it sniff her hand for a minute to get accustomed to her scent, she collapsed her legs and sat pretzel-like. She was very relaxed, trying to keep it calm. This could finally be her chance!
"Now, little one, I've always wanted a little vulpix like you. I just adore your beautiful curls and big brown eyes! How would you like to be my companion? I have a kirlia and altaria right now, and enter them in Contests. I'm a Coordinator. With me, you'll never have to enter a dirty battle for no reason, and you'll be pampered and adored by crowds of higher class people..." Her voice got dreamy, and she gazed into the sky. She imagined the stage hers, with the vulpix by her side, a winning ribbon being handed over. Perfect.
She reached into her pocket and took out a Luxury Ball she'd recently splurged on, and slowly held it out for the Vulpix's inspection. If it suddenly decided to rebel, she always had her altaria to battle with, if it came to that.

Amora watched the trainer sit down and she felt like smiling. Maybe the trainer wanted to take her home! She wagged her mighty tail and shifted her weight. The trainer spoke and she listened closely. She understood human speech but she couldn't speak to them. She smiled at the part of never being in a battle. Battles were something she didn't like. I will be adored? Adored! Everyone will look at me! She felt overjoyed and felt like jumping
Things were going good and suddenly there was a pokeball. Amora paused and looked at the ball, it looked different than a normal pokeball. Amora didn't want to be crammed in there, not now or ever! She shook her head and nudged the ball out of the girl's hand. She didn't want to be in a pokeball. She looked at the trainer with sad eyes hoping she would understand. Amora didn't want to battle, she just didn't want to be in a ball. She liked walking free and hoped that the trainer would understand and allow it.
ooc: she has a fear of pokeballs xD

OOC: Sure, Beatrix doesn't mind. Beatrix watched the vulpix's face, and noted that it seemed almost happy. Once she held out the pokeball, though, it's eyes turned suddenly fearful. It pushed the pokeball out of Beatrix's grasp, and she shrugged. Stowing it away in her pack, she turned back to the vulpix. Hopefully that slight misstep wouldn't blow it for her. "Well, it's okay if you don't want to go in a ball. I once met a whole dragonair who refused to go in a pokeball, so her trainer had to lug her everywhere. At least you're small!" She reached out to pat the vulpix's head, hoping that her soothing chatter would calm it down. "I still like you, and hope you'll forgive me for the pokeball. Will you come home to my apartment with me?" She looked hopefully back the way she had come, towards her posh apartment. How much better than these dusty hills!

Amora saw the ball go away and she knew that the trainer understood. She made a soft sound, almost a purr. She listened to what she said and she felt like smirking, a huge dragonair would be terrible to lug around. At least I am small and out of the way! She let the trainer pet her and smiled, letting her tail wag.
The trainer spoke some more and Amora nodded. She stood up and walkd over to the well. She picked up the bucket of water and brought it back to the girl. She looked thirsty so she hoped this would help. Amora then began to think of her future. She didn't want to be a Vulpix forever, she wanted to be a beautiful Nine Tails! Even the thought of that made her happy.
ooc: Secret dream is to be nine tails...so pretty...so many tails...I love them. haha xD

Beatrix patted the Vulpix on the head again, and took a long swig from the bucket. She dusted off her hands and stood up, wiping dirt off the butt of her ditsy-patterned romper. Bringing the bucket back to the well, she dropped it down and listened to the satisfying plink. She turned back to her new friend, shielding her eyes to look up at the sun, She definitely wanted to make it home before dark, so she would have to leave right now.
"So, will you stay or while you go?" Beatrix asked. She held her arms out hopefully, kneeling down to get to the vulpix's level. The sun sank a bit, the light turning a shade darker, and she tried her best to hide the impatience she was feeling. Oh, how she would love to have a vulpix on her team! The judges would swoon over the fiery magnificence.

Amora watched her drink the water and smiled, she had done good. She giggled inside at the plink sound and watched her trainer. She looked around at the setting sun and was glad that soon it would be colder in the land. The trainer looked anxious though and she knew that the she must want to get home before dark.
Her eyes turned back to the trainer and she heard her speak as she leaned down with open arms. Amora stood up and shook before running and jumping into the trainer's arms. She nuzzled against her and made a sound that sounded like purring. "Vull." She said happily as she looked at the trainer.

Beatrix watched as the vulpix began to back up, and her heart sank. Darn. She didn't have time to battle right now, so maybe she'd just come back another day. Then, she realized it was just building energy-And it hopped into her arms at full force. Beatrix gently hugged her new pokemon, trying to avoid suffocating it in her excitement, before twirling around and around.
"Hooray!" She cried, feeling her new friend purr in contentment. Maybe she wouldn't have to kill Roger, after all. When the joyous twirling had stopped, she thought for a moment. A name was needed if this vulpix would be her partner. A female, with big hazel eyes that looked just full of love. She was sure her gaze returned all of the affection, and then it came to her like a flying brick.
"Amora!" She cried, meeting the newly christened vulpix's eyes. "Amora means 'My Love' in Spanish, and I think it fits perfectly-I can tell already that we'll be the most fantastic partners to ever hit the Contest world. We'll take it by storm!" She danced around excitedly, her heart flying high.

Amora felt dizzy after being spun around and she closed her eyes for a second to make the queasy feeling pass. She looked up to the trainer and seemed to smile as she looked at her. Suddenly the girl shouted Amora's name. Amora wondered what she wanted and then she realized she was naming her. Amora nodded happily, the female knew her name! She was merry now. She hadn't even mentioned her name but she had chosen it perfectly.
Amora was overjoyed as the trainer went on about winning contests. She wondered if her scar would affect her chance of winning. Surely it wouldn't, right? Suddenly her trainer was dancing and Amora knew that the trainer must be super happy to have her. The moment seemed perfect and then her stomach growled. Amora made a cute face and then looked at her tummy. She hadn't eaten in almost 3 days. She was starving. She looked up at her new owner and gave an innocent look.

Beatrix giggled as Amora made a point of her hunger. She looked around, and saw nothing but dry land and shriveled weeds. She didn't quite know what Vulpixes ate, but she assumed mice and other small animals. She began walking, desperate to make it home on time-Dark pokemon and Poachers came out at night, and she didn't want to be around for that.
"Walk with me, talk with me. We should start looking for something for you to eat. What do you like best? Small pokemon, berries, insects?" She waited for an accompanying nod for one of the things she said, confirming that Amora ate it. Beatrix was getting hungry herself, and couldn't wait for a nice fresh salad at home.

She twitched her ears as her trainer spoke to her. She listed off things that she could eat and Amoa nodded happily to small pokemon and berries. She loved berries, they were the best. She nodded a lot at the mention of berries. The thought of them made her drool a little. She wanted her trainer to get home first but she was starving, surely she would understand that.
Amora thought of the last place she had seen berries and sighed when she couldn't think of anywhere. She had eaten all the berries at the last bush she had found. There had only been three berries so you couldn't blame her for eating them all. As the sun faded even more Amora began to worry about Poachers. She could handle dark pokemon, she had for almost her entire life but Poachers, ooo they gave her shivers.
