A Pokemon Center, finally. Makie and her Pokemon had been traveling for awhile after catching the newest member of their team, Tonkori the Rattata. Being the genius that she was, Makie had chosen one of the hottest and dryest places in all the region to look for her first Pokemon and it had exhausted her already. The blond haired girl was glad to just sit in the air conditioning and relax for a little while. And now it was chow time. Walking into the cafeteria, she instantly knew that everything was about to be a lot better.
She released Tonkori and Taiko from their Pokeballs. Both of them were grumpy and hungry so it made sense to let them both out. Even if they didn't like each other very much. Each of them were to hungry to really fight one another right now anyways.
"Come on guys, lets get something to eat."
They followed her over to the vendor that held Pokemon food. Normal type food for Tonkori and Water type food for Taiko.

Irony stood at the door of the pokemon center with a dark appearance as he always wore even as his trainer, the green haired man named Ryo, walked up. The steel bird pokemon had flown ahead despite the fact that they were in town, and there was no real reason for it. Both exchanged calm looks before Ryo took hold of the door and opened it for the Skarmory. Bowing a fraction, the steel bird walked in followed by the green haired Ryo. As they stepped inside, the burst of cold air that awaited both trainer and pokemon was met in different ways. Iron, who rather detested the cold in general, shook his head agitated by the breeze while Ryo seemed unfazed by the transition. The steel pokemon was already headed towards the cafeteria and took small steps followed by jumps and glides in order to keep up with his long legged trainer who walked beside him.
Ryo, with the cool demeanor he wore upon his visage almost perfectly resembling that of Irony's, walked alongside his steel feathered friend until both were at the cafeteria. It was a simple transition from the main lobby into the main food court, and Iron took to the rafters as Ryo moved towards a vending machine with pokemon food. On normal days, the green haired man would chose to make his own pokemon food. However, today was an exception due to the fact both man and pokemon were tired from the training they had just finished. Looking about the cafeteria before he finally called back to the metal bird who came downwards, Ryo offered up a few pokeblocks as a measure for his friend.

The blond haired girl had been wasting time at the machine, unsure of what she wanted to eat herself. To tell the truth, she liked eating the sweet Pokeblocks that were in the next machine over, even if they were for contest Pokemon and not for people. They were supposed to make a Pokemon more Cute or more Smart. Maybe if she ate enough of the sweet Pokeblocks, she would be cute too... When she finally made her choice to get the Pokeblocks as well, she saw that the machine was no longer unoccupied, rather there was a tall, green haired man standing there.
Makie's face turned red. He was so cute. Out of her league but still extremely on the cute side. If only she could get to talk to him for a little bit. While she was debating her chance slipped away as he walked off towards his own Pokemon. A giant steel bird Pokemon that looked like it would be able to swallow both of her Pokemon in one bite.
She put her order into the vending machine. She had enough Pokeblocks to feed a couple Pokemon though. It was on accident, she had been planning on ordering some human food as well. Settling on a soda she took the package of Pokeblocks and looked for an empty seat, tripping over her own feet and landing next to the green haired man, spilling a majority of her lunch on the floor.

Handing down some pokeblocks to Irony, Ryo sat down, stretched his legs out, and continued to hand feed the steel bird. He detested eating before his pokemon, and Iron had worked out far more than he had. Continuing to hand out the pokeblocks, Ryo sighed a bit to himself as he continued to feed Iron. "We'll go out again after lunch and take Alloy with us this time," he commented to the metal bird whom he believed understood every word. Alloy, was a female Steelix much larger than Iron but weaker in speed wise, and it was exactly that element that Ryo had decided he would train her own.
Suddenly feeling someone trip over his feet, Ryo turned his head and found that a girl had all but fallen right on top of him, her lunch scattering to the floor in a mass of sounds. Ryo blinked for a moment before moving his feet and starting to help the girl up. "Are you alright?" he asked in a calm voice. It was a simple question, and Ryo had asked it mostly out of courtesy's sake. Irony, whom had been severely irritated by his sudden impairment from food due to someone getting in the way, shook his head a bit at the girl and the pokemon that appeared to be with her.
Ryo sighed a bit as he began to pick up pokeblocks and things that had scattered on the floor. Starting to set them on his table, the green haired man managed to put up a stack on the table that he had been sitting at. Despite the fact that the food had touched the floor, Ryo had little doubt that they would be refused by pokemon who were truly hungry in the end. However, some were picky especially humans, and it caused Ryo to realize that the girl had picked nothing but pokeblocks. At least she is feeding her pokemon was the only real thought in response to this.

Taiko's first thought at his trainer falling was to roll over laughing. The water type was laughing so hard that tears were coming out of his eyes. He had been holding his own food and Tonkori had already eaten his on the way to the table. His stupid trainer had spilt her own lunch all over the floor like a moron. Now he knew why there was no respect between the two of them. She was a clutzy idiot. He sat down, not bothering to console her and laughing still while he started to eat his own nutritious lunch. He wouldn't be caught dead eating Pokeblocks.
Tonkori was slightly more concerned about his traiener and had gone about to help her pick up her food, munching on it as he went. Makie wasn't going to eat the bits that had fallen on the floor anyways.
"M-my lunch... Its gone..."

Irony's leer at Taiko was caustic in nature as he looked at the water pokemon. Such disrespect to a trainer would not be tolerated Instead, the metalic bird walked towards the other pokemon and continued to leer throwing out his head a bit as if to encourage a sudden pecking motion. After a moment, he shook his head and sighed to himself before returning his gaze to his trainer. Both Ryo and Irony's connection was solid from both ends. They had spent more than eleven years together and were all but a single unit. This, along with other things, had prompted the bird pokemon to despise pokemon disrespect towards their trainers.
Ryo sighed outwards as he realized that the girl had actually been planning to eat the pokemon food. It was not an uncommon thing, but it simply did not accommodate Ryo's tastes. The green haired man simply rose after a moment, walked over to the vending machine, and started retrieving more pokeblocks. Finally fulfilling what he believed to be enough, along with taking a cookie from the normal human lunch tray, Ryo walked back to find the girl still looking depressed about her food. Sighing and setting the bag of pokeblocks and the cookie in front of the girl, Ryo sat down again and began to offer food to Irony again.

Giving Makie food was best described as something that should only be done if you want a friend for life, other than that it is something to be avoided at all costs, especially if you don't like people. Taiko wasn't really worried about the big metal bird that was coming his way. So what? He would be tough as hell one day too. He stuck his tounge out at the bird and continued eating his own food.
Tears of graditude welled up in the blond's eyes. He had been nice enough even to get her a cookie! He was the nicest person she had ever met!
"Nyu! Thank you thank you thank you! Nyu!"
She lept up careful not to spill her food again and gave him a large and rather aggressive hug.

Irony glared again and as the slick water pokemon stuck his tongue out at the metal bird, Iron pecked him sharply in the side and leered again before threatening to peck him again. Shaking his head, the steel bird finally sighed to himself irritably. There was no word to describe how the Skarmory was feeling on the matter.
Ryo all but flinched back in surprise at being hugged. He had not expected it and was surely not ready for such human contact. However, he made no motion to avert her. Instead he just dropped his arms more and half looked upward waiting for her to stop. "You're welcome," he finally sighed after a few seconds. It was strange, for the green haired man that avoided humans contact more like the plague than anything, to be put into the situation. He had been more or less assuming that she would simply thank him and go on her way, but in the end Ryo found what had been fault in his theory.

At actually being pecked, Taiko retreated inside his shell. Lets see the stupid metal bird get to him now! Now he was inside his fortress of awsome! Stupid shiny bird... Tonkori had crawled onto Makie's shoulder in the midst of her hugging the human male. Well this was interesting... Was this how humans made baby humans? And if so, why were they doing it in public? Humans confused the little purple rat so much it was enough to make his head spin. At least he was getting food out of the deal though, that was really what mattered.
After another moment of hugging, Makie released the green haired man and smiled at him. Yup, he was a good guy just like she had thought to begin with.
"I'm sorry for tripping over your feet and spilling my origional lunch everywhere... Thank you again for helping me. Most people wouldn't be so kind. My name is Makie Misora and its nice to meet you sir."

Iorny sighed and shook his head as he watched the water pokemon retreat behind a wall of shell. This.... the Skarmory left with a calm satisfaction of forcing the young pokemon to retreat. If the pokemon appeared out of his shell again, he would receive another peck. This was immanent. Looking over to his trainer with a confused look for a moment, Iron half sighed as the girl finally released Ryo. I'm surprised she didn't get pushed away..... passed through the steel bird's head before he turned it back on the shelled pokemon. Growing a fraction impatient, Iron jabbed at the shell with his beak before finally sighing to himself.
"It was my fault for leaving my feet out," Ryo answered back. "Which is why I paid for what had been spilled..." It was a logical explanation in the green haired man's opinion. After a moment, registering that she had given him her name, Ryo sighed and answered back. "My name is Ryo Asora."

Once again she smiled and took her seat on the floor. It was where her lunch was so why not? It was a good as place as any and the floor had to be clean since it was a Pokemon Center. Sick Pokemon had to be healthy so the place had to be healthy... It all made sense in her mind. She had already determined that she was going to save the cookie for very last. It was special after all.
"I knew you were a nice person, since I saw you buying food for your own Pokemon. Bad people don't take the time to select their Pokemon's food carefully after all, they just feed them whatever. Its nice to meet you Ryo... Wait, I've already said that it was nice to meet you, haven't I? Your Pokemon looks really powerful, I just got mine. Taiko from the lab and I caught Tonkori in the drylands. Sorry, I'm rambling... I just like to know a lot about different Pokemon. I want to be a Breeder you see... And I'm still doing it..."
Makie felt like slapping herself. All she could do was ramble on and Ryo probably thought she was a total idiot. Well maybe she was but she couldn't help but be curious about all sorts of Pokemon, it was in her nature after all.

Ryo half nodded as he watched Makie sitting on the floor and talking up to him about being a pokemon trainer. He hadn't expected her to be a new trainer from her age range that had been determined in his mind by how old she looked. However, then again, it wasn't his place to judge on such matters. Instead, he simply remained quiet and listened to her talk on and on about pokemon. Taking out more pokemon food and offering it to Iron, Ryo half listened to what Makie was saying. Iron, who was too much interested now with the shell of the water pokemon, finally sighed and returned to eating the pokeblocks with a careful bite as to make sure not to nip Ryo's hand.
"I usually make my own pokeblocks. It is better if one knows how to feed his pokemon rather than depend on a pokemon center," he finally said after a moment with a calm aura about him. Looking at the rat pokemon on the girl's shoulder, Ryo nodded a bit more but remained silent. Iron, who had finished eating his pokeblocks, rubbed up against Ryo and let out a sigh as if pleased to be around his trainer in general. "So then, have you been in a pokemon battle, yet?" Ryo finally asked.

Makie could tell that Ryo was barely interested in a thing she was saying. That was okay though. At least he wasn't telling her to bug off. She knew that trainers made their own Pokeblocks but she had never had the chance to try it herself. She had only been out on her own for a little bit and she had rushed right in to try and catch a Pokemon with her new starter. She nodded interested as Ryo spoke though. Maybe she could get him to give her a few pointers about it. Tonkori scuttled down Makie's arm and up to Ryo. So this was a human male? It was a lot bigger than his own trainer. Course he was male too so he was bigger than all the female Rattata's he had seen. Maybe it was something with all species?
He sniffed at his shoes and poked them a little with his nose. Human males smelled different than the female ones too. So many things to learn about them. It was a good thing he had gotten himself caught after all.
A pokemon battle? Makie tilted her head slightly.
"The only battle I've been in was the one with Tonkori, so I could catch him. I've never been up against a person if thats what you mean..."

Iron's head moved towards the Ratatata somewhat threateningly as if to peck at it if it came any closer. However, feeling a hand on the back of his neck and relaxing at the pet of his trainer, the steel bird pokemon went back to his calm demeanor. Both man and pokemon sat strangely alike as they made the conversation.
"Ah, I see," Ryo answered back. "Well then, how about a practice battle?" he asked with a calm stare. "To get you used to battling other trainers." Iron turned his head to one side and looked at his trainer as if somewhat surprised by the purposal. Despite the fact that they spoke different languages, Iron had come to recognize several words including battle which meant a pokemon battle. It had been a while since his trainer had actually purposed a battle instead of accepting one, and it made the steel bird wonder what had come over his trainer. Ryo just continued to sit back in his chair wondering if the girl would accept the challenge.

Makie thought for a moment. A realy battle? Against another person? She had just wanted to be a Pokemon breeder and spend time playing all day with Pokemon. But that wouldn't work well considering that Pokemon needed to get stronger in order to be happier sometimes. She suspected that it was for that reason that Taiko had no respect for her. He didn't trust her to raise him right and therefore thought it was okay to make her life a living nightmare. But Ryo's Pokemon looked really strong. It would only be a practice match though so he shouldn't go to hard on her.
Taiko's head popped out of his shell at the mention of a battle. Thats what he had been hoping for after all. He would show this metal bird who was the tough one after all. Tonkori was also interested in battle, even though he knew that the stupid turtle would probably be the one to actually get to battle since he was the starter Pokemon. He knew that he was just here as a substitute if Taiko didn't want to battle the opponent.
"All right, I can always try at least. I think I'll use Tonkori instead of Taiko though, he has a bit of an attitude problem today. And besides we need to see how well we'll work together after all."
